Light bulb colors can make or break the feel of your space. Fabrics and materials you see in a store can look completely different at home. The lighting in your home affects their appearance.

We are explaining the Kelvins (or colors) of light bulbs. You can use these effectively in different spaces of a home. We will talk about how each type creates certain moods in each space of your home.

The Highlights:

The Kelvin scale is an absolute temperature scale. A lower Kelvin, such as 2700K-3000K, produces a warm, soft, yellowish light. Alternatively, a higher Kelvin, such as 5000K-6500K, produces a cool, crisp, blueish-white light.

Warm Whites (2700K-3000K)

Includes 2700K-3000K. These warm white bulbs are our favorite because they make spaces feel more cozy and welcoming. We like using this type of bulb specifically in bedrooms, family rooms, and living rooms. However, if you want to create comfortable, cozy vibe, these bulbs can be used anywhere.

Neutral/Bright White (3500K-4100K)

The happy medium of the colors, these bulbs provide a clean, bright, and neutral white light. We like to use this type of bulb in kitchens, bathrooms, and home office spaces.

Cool White/Daylight (5000K-6500K)

These bulbs verge on the cooler, blue side. Typically these are used in spaces where one needs crisp focused light, such as garages and retail spaces.
